Physicians
C. Mark Chassay, MD, FAAFP, FASCM is co-founder of Texas Sports & Family Medicine, PLLC along with Mark Hutchens, M.D. and Robyn McCarty, M.D. He has practiced sports and family medicine since 1995. He was named Team Physician and Coordinator of Sports Medicine for Women's Athletics at the University of Texas at Austin in 1996. Read more
Mark Hutchens, MD was raised in El Paso, TX. He attended Texas A&M University and earned a B.S. degree in biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed a residency in family medicine at the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia where he also served as Chief Resident. He developed an interest in sports medicine during his residency and assisted with the care of athletes at Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University. Read more
Robyn McCarty, MD has been caring for athletes in Austin since 1999. She worked in the sports medicine clinic at University Health Services at the University of Texas from 1999-2003. In 2003, she left UHS and co-founded Texas Sports & Family Medicine with Drs. Chassay and Hutchens. Dr. McCarty worked with the UT Athletic Department in the capacity of Team Physician for Men's Athletics from 2001-2005 and as senior assistant team physician from 2005-2007. Read more
Timothy Vachris, MD was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He attended St. Thomas High School and graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a B.A. in Biology and Spanish. He went on to earn his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2005. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Memorial Southwest Family Medicine Residency in Sugarland, Texas. While in residency, he developed an interest in Sports Medicine, and helped with the care of the athletes at the University of St. Thomas. Read more

Nate Dirksen, DC, ACP was born and raised in northwest Indiana. He attended Purdue University and Parker College of Chiropractic, where he earned a B.S. degree in Anatomy and Chiropractic Doctorate, and joined Airrosti to begin practice in the spring of 2006. Dr. Dirksen enjoys participating and watching athletics, and lives in the Austin area with his wife Lindsey.
Brian E. Ellspermann, DC, ACP is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Arizona Air National Guard where he served as a civil engineer. He then attended Arizona State University where he earned a B.S. degree in Biology and received his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas where he also earned B.S. degrees in Anatomy and Health and Wellness. Dr. Ellspermann practiced for a year in Tempe, AZ before joining the Airrosti team at Texas Sports and Family Medicine in December 2007.
